Harsh’s transformation was nothing short of remarkable. Six months into therapy at Sarthak Educational Trust’s Early Intervention Center, this once distant, frustrated boy was now calm, communicative, and even writing alphabets.
He had learned to eat on his own, follow instructions, and, most heartwarming of all, he began playing with his younger brother — a bond that had once seemed impossible. The changes were a testament to the power of early intervention and the unwavering support of Sarthak.
Challenges Before Intervention
But just a year ago, his parents were lost and overwhelmed. Harsh’s father, a small stationery shop owner, and his mother, a homemaker, didn’t know how to help their son. Harsh had always been different — staying to himself, avoiding play with other kids, and struggling with basic tasks.
His frustration often turned into anger — shouting, refusing to sit still, and even lashing out at his younger brother. They felt helpless until Harsh was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) during a visit to Chacha Nehru Hospital.
The Turning Point: Sarthak’s Early Intervention
Fortunately, a family friend recommended the Sarthak Early Intervention Center, which provided the therapy and guidance they desperately needed. At Sarthak, the team crafted a personalized therapy plan for Harsh, focusing on occupational and speech therapy.
With Sarthak’s help and ongoing therapy at home, Harsh’s frustration subsided, and his sensory issues improved. He started to engage with the world, marking a new chapter in his life.
Gratitude and Hope
Looking back, Harsh's father wishes he had sought therapy earlier but is filled with gratitude for the progress Sarthak has made possible. "We didn’t know what to do before," he said, "but Sarthak showed us the way. Now, we have hope for Harsh’s future."
Harsh’s progress highlights the critical importance of early intervention and the unwavering support from both his parents and Sarthak.
