India's Champions

Meet Three Champions Carrying India's Hopes to Finland

Their skills are different. Their journeys are different. But their dream is the same: represent India, compete with the best and bring home Gold.

What Does It Take to Win Gold?

Talent is only the beginning. Our champions need months of intensive preparation, specialised training, expert guidance, practice materials, equipment, travel and international competition support.

Your contribution can help make that preparation possible.

Three Champions. One Dream. Gold for India.

1
Harishanthan – Photography Champion

Harishanthan | Photography

He spent years capturing other people's stories. Then he became the story.

For years, Harishanthan stood behind the camera—capturing weddings, documentaries and moments people wanted to remember.

When financial difficulties forced him to leave film school, his dream could have ended there. Instead, he kept learning.

From documentaries and magazine assignments to working as an assistant cameraman on a Tamil film, Harishanthan built his career through determination and practice. Eventually, he established his own photography studio.

He won Gold at the National Abilympics and represented India at the International Abilympics in Japan, where he won Bronze in Photography. Today, he is preparing for Finland 2027.

His next frame has only one goal: Gold for India.

Priyanka Deepak Dabade – Embroidery Champion

Priyanka Deepak Dabade | Embroidery

She has already won Silver for India. Now she wants Gold.

Priyanka discovered her passion for embroidery at a young age and turned it into both a profession and a way to empower others.

She has won Gold at the West Zone Regional Abilympics, Gold at the National Abilympics, and Silver along with a Medal of Excellence at the International Abilympics 2023 in France.

She was also honoured with the National Award 2024 – Sarvshreshth Divyangjan. Today, Priyanka works as an embroidery trainer, helping deaf students develop skills and build their own futures, while continuing her advanced training for the next International Abilympics.

She has already stood on the international podium. Now, she wants to return—and turn Silver into Gold for India.

Mohammad Shamim Alam – Tailoring Champion

Mohammad Shamim Alam | Tailoring

A skill became a career. A competition changed his life. Now he is aiming for Gold.

Shamim grew up watching his father work as a tailor. He inherited not just the craft, but a love for creating something with his own hands.

Yet finding stable employment was a challenge. The Abilympics gave Shamim the opportunity to showcase what he could do, learn from experienced mentors and compete alongside some of the best skilled professionals.

He won Gold at the National Abilympics and went on to win Bronze at the International Abilympics in France. That international medal brought recognition, confidence and new career opportunities.

Now, Shamim is preparing to represent India again at Finland 2027.

This time, he is going for Gold.
